Random extremely happy memory… Time: the night before graduation May 18th 2001
Location: the steps of the campanile at u.c. Berkeley
Cast: me, w.w. j.c. j.s. and j.t. extremely drunk making our way from our house to a bar on shattuck… earlier that day we had seen Moulin Rouge! At the Metreon in S.F. then immediately went to the Virgin MegaStore on Market Street to buy the soundtrack… needless to say by the time we headed out the night of the 18th, we knew the soundtrack forwards and backwards… at the campanile, we decided to hangout and enjoy the moment, when W.W. and started humming the Elephant Love Song Medley, which lead to me singing the”Christian” role to her Satine… we started gathering an audience, by the time we finished there were like 50 people watching and if all things cheering. It’s what came next that garnered the most attention, I kept going and started singing Come What May, I expected W.W. to continue her Satine, but to my surprise it was my b.f., J.T. who finished the song with me.

I’m sure we were terrible, but by the time we were done and J.T. and I realized what we had done there must’ve been 200 people applauding and cheering us on.

That night, May 18th, 2001… is the only night I ever felt joy, happiness and love.
